FEAR demo freezes at random points for seconds

i have a 6800 gt amd 64 3500+ 1gb of corsair xms xl ddr400 dual chanel and when i run fear or any other realy high end games even on the recommened ones it freezes at random poins for a few seconds. everything does even if i hit num lock the light does not change on keyboard. what would make this happen? i have win xp with sp2 and 28 processes running

That is RAM lag...F.E.A.R. needs 2GB of RAM to get beyond that nuisance.
