Default fat 32 to ntfs

is there any way of changing my pc's format to fnts from fat 32 without formating my hd thanxs in advance rigsby

Yes there is a way. I did this to mine. I believe you have to do it within MS dos but i cant remember how. You have to type something like "format C:\ ntfs" but im probably wrong.

Someone will put me corrected though

Default convert from FAT32 to NTFS

I think the command is
convert <drive letter> /FS:NTFS

I used partitionmagic to do the job a few months ago and it called this command. No formatting was involved. My C: drive was converted successfully from FAT32 to NTFS without any problems.

Yeah something like that. It definatley is possible. I done it a few months back. I can remember though, MS Dos actually told me what to type before i typed it. I think i went to some kind of 'help' within ms dos and then followed some menu's or something and it told me what to type. Cant remember exactly...
