WTF... how many reads and writes can they do? Do they just die eventually or something?
Quite a while depending on the application of the disk in the situation - say you used it as a main drive for your OS an used it all the time it would kill it in a few years (if not sooner) but if you used it as a long term sotradge drive or a drive for a application that needed fast read an write speeds it is ideal an it will give you a long srevace life.
There is one down side to SSDs is that when it goes it goes an there is sweet **** all you can do to get data back - that is why its not common to find them in data centers yet for large financial incrustations an they are only used sparingly by the military.
