Extremely! slow comp, 15 min to startup

I'm having trouble with my new machine. It takes about 15-20 minutes to start up, and is horribly sluggish when it finally gets going. CPU spikes, laggy video, you name it . . . it goes on all the time.

Now I do have Cydoor spyware on the comp and can't remove it. I've used Ad-Aware to no avail. The program deletes some files, but Cydoor starts at the next reboot.

Do you think it's all attributed to the Spyware or do you believe I may have a hardware problem?

reformat ur copmputer

Your going to have to reboot. Just put in your os install disc and choose install. Then reformat your hard drive when it ask you to pick a section to isntall to.

Completely clean reboot or can I install on a separate partition?

msconfig it and see what is up... If nothing, u have no choice... Reformat! And make sure that u install the following (if possible).:

Webroot Window Washer
Webroot Spy Sweeper
Registry Mechanic
Norton AntiVirus
Norton FireWall

No PC should be with out those apps, or somewhere among those lines.
