Extra key commands unique without a macro?
I was wondering if it would be possible to make every key on a keyboard have a unique, assignable ID. Currently, I have found no software or keyboard that allows its extra keys to be assigned to a function in a game or program as its own key. First, you have to make a macro that presses another key, and then you have to assign the function to the key in the macro. The problem with this is that there is only so many keys on a keyboard, and when I am running several programs that use global hotkeys at the same time, there is almost always conflicts.
Instead of having to assign a macro to a extra key on a gaming keyboard, I want to make it be its own key. For example, instead of having to make my s4 be a shortcut for the home key, and then assign the command to the home key; I want to make s4 an assignable key without a macro.
Is there a way to do this?
