so I followed the instructions on properly hooking up an eSATA portable hard drive, yet for whatever reason it will not ever connect. However the drive will connect when I have it plugged in via USB.

My Book Home Edition 320GB Triple interface

i normally only go to bb to look at dvd releases...but not actually buy :D
only brick and mortar eh?

how bout this one:
SimpleTech - 320GB External Hard Drive - Blue - SP-U35/320
$120

but that maxtor should be good as well

and maybe this one...but it's a hefty beast from dimensions, hehe
Maxtor - OneTouch 4 Plus 500GB External Hard Drive - STM305004OTA3E5-RK

Well when I bought it it had to be a quick buy and this drive went on sale so I thought it would be a good deal.

Now I have never heard of simpletech, but are they a good reliable brand?

I've not had good luck with Maxtor drives...... an example from an old Win98 pc when we first got it. it had to have the Drives changed almost 5 times because of failure to operate.

Well I cant decide between the Seagate 160GB and the simpletech 320GB.

I know Seagate is a reliable brand from my own hard drives in my computer but I have never heard of simpletech until like now.
