Default Excessive use of my hard-drive

One of my hard-drives sized 20 gb has over 14 gb of used space and I don't understand how. I don't have much stored in this hard-drive except for my programs that hardly take up any space.

Do any of you have any idea why this could be? Is it windows? Is my hdd screwed up? Can I fix this?

Thanks alot.

Internet Explorer files, and System Restore files really take up space on the HD.

Also registry info gets saved, therefore taking space.

if you are really concerned, download CCleaner and clean up space.
