Default DVI Dual Link

I was wondering what the difference between normal DVI and dual link is, for instance will:

This HD 5830 : Power Color 1GB HD 5830 Graphics Card - AX58301GBD5-PPDH - Scan.co.uk

work with,

this monitor : Acer V223HQVqbd 54.6 cm (21.5") CCFL LCD Monitor - 16:9 - 5 ms | ET.WV3HE.021

because the graphics card says DL-DVI and the monitor says DVI?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Your monitor will work, it just won't use the extra female pins.
