Question DVD-RW light is on when PC is off

HI
I have bought an ALL IN ONE PC with this configuration:
--------------------------------------------------------
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 (2.4GHZ) in 478 Socket
Bus speed: 800/533/400MHz System bus With Hyper-Treading Support
Memory: 512
DDR400/333/266 DDR (2 DDR banks)
Chipset: Intel 865G & ICH5
Display: 15.1" XGA TFT LCD Panel
VGA: Intel Extreme Graphic 2
Audio: AC 97 specifications, 2Watt output with
Internal speakers
HDD: 1 X 3.5 inches hard disk, 7200rpm of 80 GB
Network LAN: Realtek 10/100M LAN on board
Serial Port: 1 X RS232
Parallel Port: 1 X Parallel Port
USB Port: 4 X USB 2.0
Firewire: 2 X IEEE1394 Port
Others: 1 X LAN, 1X Mic Input, 1 X Audio out
---------------------------------------------------------
I have installed a NEC DVD RW slim type and when my pc is OFF the light of the DVD RW is on.

IS there anyone who can help me fix this problem?
It is driving me crazy
Thanks to everyone

Does it say on permanently. Does it stay on temporarily when you unplug it?

I had a computer which had a little green light on the keyboard anytime the computer was plugged in. Also, some electronic devices have high capacity capacitors so the electricity takes a few minutes or more to power down completely.

However that would cause any harm to any or your hardware (to my knowledge)

Dunno if its fault (does the drive work fine), or it could be made to do that for some reason. If it annoyes you a lot (like its in the room you sleep in), id put a bit of masking tape over it, but thats all i can help you with. Try googling "Your Drive model + light" or something like that.
