DVD-RW light is on when PC is off

I have bought an ALL IN ONE PC with this configuration:

Parallel Port: 1 X Parallel Port
USB Port: 4 X USB 2.0
Firewire: 2 X IEEE1394 Port
Others: 1 X LAN, 1X Mic Input, 1 X Audio out

I have installed a NEC DVD RW slim type and when my pc is OFF the light of the DVD RW is on.

IS there anyone who can help me fix this problem?
It is driving me crazy

Does it say on permanently. Does it stay on temporarily when you unplug it?

I had a computer which had a little green light on the keyboard anytime the computer was plugged in. Also, some electronic devices have high capacity capacitors so the electricity takes a few minutes or more to power down completely.

However that would cause any harm to any or your hardware (to my knowledge)

MY reply is that the light is on until i unplug the pc from the wall plug.
PLease advise if you know anything

Dunno if its fault (does the drive work fine), or it could be made to do that for some reason. If it annoyes you a lot (like its in the room you sleep in), id put a bit of masking tape over it, but thats all i can help you with. Try googling "Your Drive model + light" or something like that.
