Question DVD-ROM playing up

I have a Samsung SD-616Q DVD-ROM, had it for 18+ months now with no problems...

For some reason, it won't autoplay any disk inserted. For example when I put my Doom 3 CD in, an error message comes up saying:-

"The procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic link libary KERNAL32.dll.".

"Demosheild player has encountered a problem and needs to close...".

It runs any disk fine, but won't autoplay. Autoplay is set to 'prompt', btw. I've tried looking for new drivers but to no avail.

EDIT: The drive is recognised in both BIOS (correctly, as Secondary slave) and device manager.
