Default dvd-rom drive is not working at all

Ok well I recently bought the Grand Theft Auto: San andreas game and tried to install it, and since its a dvd-rom, I have to use my dvd drive. Well it dosen't work with ne cd I have put in it.

I have tried to put music cds, data cds, regular dvds, and my dvd game but it doesn't work at all. I have a intel celeron with 2.30 ghz and 248 mb of ram. My dvd drive is called JLMS-XJ-HD-166S or something. I don't really know a whole lot about computers so if someone can help me solve this problem I will appriciate it greatly.

So far I have checked the region its setting is in, and its in region 1, and I have cleaned it with a disc cleaner thing but it still dosen't work at all. It comes up with the message that I need to insert a disc when I already did.
