DVD-Rom and CD-RW

Ok, I have one DVD rom drive and a cd-rw drive. however. When i connect the power and IDE cable to both, neither of them will work or read anything. If I unplug one, itll work and vice versa. I have no idea what to do. Please help im dumb

Reinstall the motherboard drivers.

you need to set the jumpers on the back so that one is master, and one is set as slave.

Yep, I agree. It sounds like you have both drives set to Master or both to Slave.

Set the CD-RW to Master (it likes this) and the DVD-ROM to Slave.

it is probably the jumpers. possibly a power problem but if it was the whole computer probably wouldn't work

It IS the jumpers...note that having the cd-rw set to master will make it show up as c: drive or the primary drive on your computer so it's pretty much preference...
