Is the DVD recorder working well (exept this problem)

i.e, can you read DVD movies on it or even browse the CD/DVD?

Have you tried using to burn to a CD (not DVD) using it
(If your using Nero, you can select from the drop down menu on the main menu CD/RW or DVD/RW)

Does windows recognize it? (When you open My Computer, can you see the drive?)
Is it connected properly?(Slave/Master)?

are you using -r or +r to record? go to device manager to see the name of your burner
