Default DVD+R/RW drive

I have an 8X dvd+r/rw drive pn my comp. Whenever trying to burn a DVD an error comes at about half way of burning. One of my friends had a problem too but it was fixed when he added 512 more ram into his comp because he only had 256 before. I also have 256 ram... Will my comp be able to burn DVD's if I add more ram to it?

It may not necessarily mean you need to add more RAM. If you are trying to burn CD to CD; make sure your CD-ROM/ DVD drive are on separate IDE channels.
