DVD Drive Problem

I'm not sure if this should be in the sofware forum but here we go...my DVD drive won't play DVDs. It still works up to a point as I can run a game disk from my F drive which is also the DVD drive. I used to have Power DVD which suddenly stopped working so I tried the Asus DVD software which came with my drive and that still didn't work...the light comes on but the disk doesn't spin. I'm confused, any ideas??

Sounds like a defective drive. Time for a new one!!

i experience something like that with my dvd drive also, but in my case was that my power dvd was setup to read from the cd drive and not from my dvd drive. i don't know if this could help you but take a look at the settings in your power dvd player or asus dvd software, it could be the problem!
