I have posted somthing liek thsi before but last time it didn't fix my problem... my dad player in my computer wont read dvd i used to jstu stick the dvd in and it would start up... no even if i open a program to watch dvds it says there is no dvd in the drive... i tried swapping it out for liek 200000000000000 other ones and none of htem worked...anyone kno what i can do?

check your drivers and make sure they're configured in autoexec.bat and mscdex...dont ask me how cuz i just learnd those have to be configured sometimes.

Clean your drive, if you try 20000000000000 dvds and get the same problem, common sense would tell you its the drive not the media.
And learn how to spell/type it's a good skill to have.

DoinTimeSublime,

Iam not sure, If your DVD player played DVD's before and now it aint playing ,several reasons might be applicable.
1) Your DVD laser wud have become weak, so its time to clean/replace your DVD ROM
2) Drivers might be corrupted , try to reinstall the drivers for your DVD ROM
[ Update your Firmware .]
3) Some DVD's work only when the 'region' is set.You can set the regions for DVD in the 'device manger' under 'DVD-ROMS...'

p.s: Try to get power DVD player to play DVD's.
