Default DVD Burner

I need some suggestions on some good external dvd burners under $100. Or should I buy an external enclosure and put an internal drive in it? if so, any suggestions on which ones? What do you think of this drive?

Lite on

I've never used this particular model but I have used several Lite On DVD burners in my own machines and others I have built. I've been very happy with them and I would recommend trying it.

I'm going to be backing up dvds. Does that effect which burner I get?

If you want Dual layer DVD burners....get a internal burner and find a case for it. If you just want single layers, i bet you can find cheap external ones out and about.

I think I've made my decision. Are these going to be compatible?
Will I need to buy a seperate IDE cable to connect the drive to the case?

External Enclosure

Drive

thanx for the help
