Default dual lan?

Why does the DFI "LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR" have 2 Lan ports? i dotn see what the purpose could be besides like a built in router?
what is the second for?

if one breaks you can use the other?

Some people like to use briding mode to connect their pcs? (god help them)

2 seperate lans? (one for work/vpn one for internet?)

nothing, 90% of gigabit cards are also 10/100
