I was wondering if i bought a 1GB kit of pc3700 rated for dual channel can i still use them as normal ram in single dimms..until i get a motherboard that supports it ?i have an opportunity to get it for $99 for 2 512mb sticks.Just wanted to use it now instead of waiting until i can upgrade more. Thanks

RAM isn't 'dual channel', the motherboard AND cpu have to support dual channel mode....so if your motherboard doesn't support it, it simply won't run it...and if your mobo and CPU DOES support it, then it will run it, provide you have it in the correct slots

any RAM disk can be used on its own, provided it's in a motherboard that supports it
also, if 2 RAM disks have the same frequency and latency, they will work together in dual channel 90% of the time, although sometimes it depends on the motherboard
