Default Dual Channel

Is it true that a dual channel motherboard requires atleast two DDR memory modules to even boot up. I thought that you could run it in single channel mode.

The board i am getting for a friend is the A8v Deluxe

Please help

Thanks

Yeah, thats what i thought, but after reading a couple of reviews regarding the ASUS mother board, it said that u would need atleast 2 sticks of DDR Ram to boot up.

If you can afford it go dual channel, it will have better perfomance thought it will cost you a little extra to split the ram into two sticks...it's worth it though.
