Duh- yes I am NOOB. I will try to research on how to download/replace the old chipset drivers.

just reinstall them.. don't remove bthem... They work like any other drivers.

got it- **embarassed**. Guess that is why I need you guys to learn this stuff.

ok downloaded the chipset drivers. I ran cpu-z which shows the chipset = mcp61, rev= A3. The bios is Phoenix Technologies LTD version 5.18 dated 9/5/07.

well played BC2 and got some lag but seemed smoother- even with the old 8600 card. So, next - switch out the card.

huh- how can I edit a post from 24 hours earlier or ever 2 hours earlier- will this website allow that? Every other forum type website I have been part of only allows editing for about 30 minutes. I did not even try. Sorry - will use "edit" whenever possible. I was just letting the guys who are helping me out know my progress so far.

OK found info on editing in the "rules" = 24 hours. It wont happen again.
