I just got my computer fixed at a shop and they installed a ide controller so I can hook up mi second hard drive. When I got windows installed my second hard drive is not being detected on the card so I was wondering where to get a vista compatable driver. All i know is the manufacturer of the card is promise but since i didn't actually install the card myself that is all the info I have.

this is what it says in the device manager

its the mass storage controller

but is there any way to find out the exact name of the card so I can get the correct drivers?

edit:

I downloaded the driver from ur link but theres no setup file

these are the files
txtsetup.oem
ultra
i386 (folder)
amd64(folder)

You should try emailing the company. If they can't get you one- take the card back where you bought it and tell them its nonfunctional.

I found a driver that says vista compatible but when i installed it windows wouldnt boot even in safe mode so I had to repair install to fix it.

Is your new HD set as the slave? Is it possible it detected the new HD and tried to boot from it?
