Drive Caridge?

I'm preparing to reformatt my hard drive on my Compaq Presario Notebook with XP and have had some questions about retrieving some files I want before doing this. The computer will not boot up right now because of a corrupt file that keeps popping up. Gotta love XP right? My question now is someone has told me to buy a drive caridge, a unit that I will connect my hard drive to and then plug the other end of the unit into a USB port on another computer. I cannot find a drive caridge online, can someone check the spelling on this or help me out? Thanks again.

You are looking for a 2.5 inch External Drive enclosure. Usually about 25-30.00 buckies for USB 2.0

You can install your 9mm 2.5in HD in it and read the files on another machine via USB.
