Gaara is right. So think of it like this. 3 1/2" drives can be both internal and external. 5 1/2" are always external.

3 1/2"
-Hard drives
-Floppy drives - Only Floppy drives are external of the 3 1/2" drives

5 1/2" - Always external
-CD/CD burners
-DVD/DVD burners

ok ok I thought he was meaning something for his Harddrive not a harddrive. alright I get it now so there never can be an internal Drive or and internal floppy just an enternal harddrive.
