Ok, I ACTUALLY have money, to spend on some memory. I'd like to buy a gig, but I dont have enough cash to get good stuft. I'm not going to settle for value hardware of any kind. It's just not my style.

So, we've got the classic XMS PRO, that we know we can trust:

Or OCZ:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146898

I was also looking at some Mushkin, but it was a bit out of my price range... and some Geil, but It was kinda cheepy-ish.

I don't even know why I'm posting this, because I know you're all probably gonna slap me and stamp my forehead with the CORSAIR logo.

Corsair sucks. Only reason i got XMS Pro is cuz of free upgrade. OCZ is MUCH better

they both suck (corsair sucks the hardest)

try to get a 512mb stick of OCZ el plat. rev2; if you can't then just save up for the 1 gig kit

Why is Corsair suddeny the bottom of the barrel when it comes to memory?

I dont need OMFGWTFFASTBBQ memory, here, and I'm not going to be doing any mad overclocking, either. (Maybe some minor, sub-220's or so)

lol...good luck getting that with the corsair

the corsair is WTFOMG ripoff for the money BBQ!!!!

I'll definately be keeping all this in mind. I'm not planning on ordering tonight or anything. Keep talking people.

So what, exactly is bad about Corsair? For future knowledge/referances.

Corsair XMS Is a steal for the price right now, it's as cheap as value ram was a fe wmonths ago

corsair sucks when it comes to OC'ing that's about it....but we're talking mad OC's like 250 plus, they CAN OC a little and probably get to 220, but with looser timings than a good pair of high performance RAM.

alternatively you could get these:

http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820218062

They require a good amount of voltage to really make them shine though, can't beat the price

Ah, Nubius. Just the man I wanted to hear.

Any reason to invest in heatspreaders for them? Any downsides to the purchase?
That 2-2-2-5 that people get in the reviews is really a seller.

I still like the price of the corsair, although those TwinMOS' arent THAT much higher. (I can always wait a bit longer, I guess) I know four people that have XMS Pro, and they havent had any trouble with 'em. One of them is a heavy OC'er, I might add.
