Does USB System boost make much difference?

Does system boost make much difference? I have an old PC that I use at work for bits and bobs, but its quite slow, and I have maxed out the RAM @ 1GB, will adding a USB pen drive and add sys boost actually make any difference?

By the way, the pen dive is 2GB, kinda ironic that the tiny pen drive has more space than the RAM! (its an HP pavilion that started out at 256MB ram, 2.2GHz)

Ready Boost will probably help that system a little bit, but I wouldn't expect much.
