Does my monitor support HD?

Hi guys

I have a Samsung SyncMaster 205bw ( SM205BW LCD - monitors SAMSUNG )

i run it at 1680x1050

Is my screen HD ready?

Can i install a bluray/HD DVD combo drive on my PC and watch HD movies without damaging the monitor?

P.S : Are these new dvds like the simple ones where the film is viewed in Widescreen mode (keeping aspect ratio) ?

is your monitor HD ready? that's a rhetorical

there should be nothing about hd/bd media playing from your computer that will damage your monitor

and I don't quite understand your PS

he means is his monitor HDCP-compliant to be able to watch movies in full resolution. I believe it is though correct me if im wrong anyone.

Also make sure that you have a HDCP-compiant videocard to.

And for your PS.....if your asking if the high def discs are in widescreen format or regular 4:3 then im not sure. I ahvent bought any Blue-ray of HD DVD discs before.
