Exclamation Disk Defragmenter / Cleanup!!!!!

Can anyone tell me what a disk defragmenter does? and what a disk cleanup does? whats the difference... but please tell me more about this defragmenter...... thanks

disk defragmenter: takes all your files on you hard drive and re aranges them in order for example you have 1000 files and you delete 50 of those now of course those files were all saved on diffrent parts of your hd now where the files were deleted there are "empty spaces" so the disk defrag just rearranges them.

disk clean up deletes all your temp files and all you recycle bin files ect.

yeah you basically got it man....files are fragmented and defrag puts them closer together so teh drive doesn't take as long to seek them.

they pretty much covered defrag, but now for disc cleanup, i would do that stuff manually, it's sometimes faster and easier for me than to wait on that sometimes slow program. clearing your temp files and such are in your internet options in the control panel.
