I bought a used Hercules soundcard with an optical input. I need this card to take signals from a multitrack recorder.
I am using a Asus motherboard with onboard sound which is configured right now.
What is the proper procedure to install this 'new' soundcard and not run into problems? Do I just go into control panel and click on disable the hardware? Or do I actually have to remove the driver and utilities that I installed from the Asus CDROM?
And I would have to do the above before I open up the machines and put in the 'new' soundcard right?
