Question DirectX 10

how is directX going to work, and will it need the newest video cards? like 7900 Series? and is there any other requirements to run DX10?

You'll need a copy of Vista with DX10, and you'll need a GeForce 8 series card or ATI's equivilent.

Something like 2.6ghz processor recommended. They're also going to want you to have 1gb of ram. A 6600GT should do the job for 3D interfaces. It depends on what release of Vista you buy.

the interface will be pretty hard on the video card, so that is why you need an ok card. - charlie

do you mean a 3800 x2? I have one, but havent tried to overclock it yet. Lots of people on TF have it around 2.4-2.5 Ghz. - charlie

the 7900 series won't cut it. They're not DX10 compatible.

Yea, 2.5 w/ aftermarket cooling is as high as im seeing people go (including myself) without water cooling.

Like irish said, the 7900's wont cut it.

You'll have to get the 8 series to run DX10
