I wish I had this kind of money

a friend of mine is looking for the best camera above $500 but below $1000

so...

what is the best of the best within that price range?
(note: he said he wanted interchangeable lenses)

if you couldn't tell, I don't know much about pro cameras

Well if he wants interchangeable lenses than go for a SLR (Single Lens Reflex). I personaly recommend Cannon or Sony.

Obviously all of these fine cameras are DSLR (Digital single Lens Reflex) and all will take a pefect picture. All of these camera's have a Hot Shoe too which means you can use an external flash on the camera's. You might also need to invest in a 1Gb or higher memory card because at 10.1 MP it will use alt of space.

My Olympus Sp-350 8MP uses 4.0MB per photo on RAW settings so 10.1 will give a very big file. Might wanna go with 2 - 4 GB card.
