Different ram readings?

this is the answer to your question man....
if you have an integrated video card(built in) and you also have a video card placed in your agp slot and may be you plugged your monitor to the one that is built in... then the one gig of ram that you have will really be subtracted with the total amount of ram your video is using....

as for your ram displaying 1048 mb instead of 1024 (512*2) it is because in case you havent noticed the term "512" "128" "256" "64" in RAM are just rounded off... they dont exactly mean that you have that exact amount of ram..
they always have higher values but are just rounded off.
