Is there any software out there that can turn a dial-up modem into a phone ?

Ca't you just use Hyper Terminal in winXP, I thought this is what it was used for.

You can use messaging software (like MSN) to talk over the internet.

But, you cant use it like a phone (ie:VOIP). Voip uses 64kbps of bandwidth (which is the theoretical maximum of dialup) but dialup only connects at 56K as a maximum. I more typical dialup connection speed is closer to 45K-ish.
