Hello,

I am looking for a solution. I have a database software that I need to install on my office server, and i want to allow employees to dial-in directly (via telephone) and connect to the server, WITHOUT dialing an ISP. What kind of hardware do i need? I need to accomodate 8 users, and a device that switches among lines.

You need to setup a RAS server with something like RADIUS. We used to use Shiva LanRovers to acomplish this task about 4 years ago, but I am sure there are better dial-up technologies now a days. We have moved over to high speed VPN access so we have this only as a backup now and for a way for some travelers to connect who we do not wish to give VPN access to.

No problem if you would like feel free to PM me if you want more info and I could give you detailed specifics of our setup when I get into work this afternoon to give you a better idea of cost and such. What is your budget you are looking to spend on the project?
