Default Device Cannot start

I Just put a 1394 firewire card into one of my other computers and in the Device manager it says the Device cannot start code 10 I uninstalled the driver and did a scandisk then reinstalled the driver and I got the same message. Has anyone else had this happen????? Help Please. Got my new camcorder and want to use that computer for video editing.

Tried reseating ir or putting it in an entirely different slot?
Also Firewire drivers are loaded after USB devices i think so try unplugging any USB devices and reboot and see if your card works.

I'm sorry I forgot to put that info, I'm running windows xp pro, and I just followed the wizard when the computer booted up.

Well after uninstalling and reinstalling and putting it in a different slot and downloading a different driver it still didn't work so off to the store I went to buy another one and wala it works, looks like the card itself was bad. Don't ya just hate that when that happens?????????
