Hey

i am fixing my m8s dell pc

400mhz
128mb ram
4gb hdd
windows xp

well he wants his formating but xp cd wont let me it will say cant find hard drive but it will boot off the hard drive

can i have some help ??

I wouldnt install anything higher than Windows 2000 on that unit. Xp will not run good at all.

But, if you dont care then:

Does the drive show up in the bios? Try Booting from a windows 98/ME disk into DOS and use FDISK to remove and recreate a partition, then format it in DOS. Once complete, try to install Windows.
