Default a decent $100-120 card

gotta build a pc for somebody who wants it just to play the sims 2.0 lol. she only has like 600 bucks.

im thinkin either a 6600 128, or a radeon 9800, or 9700.

any other ideas?

IMO i would go with the 9800ATi. ive seen people play that game with it jsut fine.

IMO I would save and get the 6600GT for about $150-$160. Your already close.

The 6600 will run the Sims 2 beautifully. It's got good graphics, but it it's a really HEAVY program if you know what I'm sayin. Integrated graphics wouldn't cut it, but if you put a 6600GT in there, it would be great.

i was just goin by the benchmarks at tomshardware. she wants the pc just for the sims 2, thats all lol. the benchmarks on the 9800 beat the 6600 by a lil bit http://graphics.tomshardware.com/gra...s-pcie-13.html

must be ati integrated or something but if ur just playin sims go for the cheaper of the 2. going to play some actually cool games lol jk. like cs or hl2 then 6600gt all the way

I agree that you should get a 6600gt, when I got mine I saw massive improvements... besides, like shawn said, you are close to being able to afford it...

my pc only cost around $400 and I am sure it can play sims2, although I have never tried that game before... but it plays doom3 without any problems...
