Default ddr/ddr2

what is the difference between ddr and ddr2, the prices dont really seem to vary, what would best suit my mobo http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/produ...duct_uid=60080

EDIT: can you tell me if i need a sound card for this mobo aswell?

board has sound and will only support 184pin ddr memory

ddr2 is faster, and newer, unfortunetely no socket 478 motherboards support DDR2, which is why i'm going LG775 in the near future..

i guess it seems your question was answered, but yes, 184-pin DDR is the only ram supported by 478's

pc3200 DDR has the same performance of pc4200 DDR2

DDR has 184 pins and DDR2 has 240 pins (has lower voltage too)
