Default CPU Usage

What is normal for the CPU usage to be? Mine is averaging like 90% constant. I can't listen to any music because when I do, it is SO skippy and my mouse gets slower.

This notebook is a couple months old, it's the newest addition gateway.

Any suggestions what to do?
If suggesting a virus scan, which one?

Thanks!

Depends on what you're doing. Idle should be about 5%, with Folding on, up to 100%, and with a good load going, I'd say 70-80%.
