when i read CPU temperature in BIOS is arond 59, and using my motherboard software(wasytune) is around 61.

when im using speedfan or everest it is about 52-53.

which temperature is right?
is it to high for amt athlon 2600+.

when i ply gmaes it read 58 in everest or 65 in easy tune. what is correct?

hmm that is a little high.

60 Would be my limit on an AMD if you were running an Intel P4 prescott core you would be fine.

I would suggest some AS5 and a new heatsink.

I had the same problems with my Intel P4 it was hittin 70 so i got a new Heatsink and some AS5 and now my CPU runns at 29... Yes that right 29 and i have mananged to overclock my 3.2 to 3.8 and the temperatures did not even go up!

I would recommend the heatsink i brought as it fits every mainstream socket

and some Arctic Silver 5

This is an Australian online shop im sure someone will suggest newegg. (newegg is abit tricky for me to find crap)

if ur motherboard is good and good quality its prolly ur mobo that will be correct but try motherboard monitor and see if u get the same thing as speed fan if the 2 tempos match then speed fan is prolly correcto mundo

hmm just read your 1st post again... it reads 61 in bios? the CPU is not even underload in bios! i woder how hot it gets when you put stress on it.

Download this little program and open it and just watch you CPU temp go up and tell us what it gets to.

that's cuz it shouldn't go up; the temps increase when you increase voltage

I have an AMD chip with a nice Zalman fan and I get 40-43C idle and about 50-52C full load when playing games. Does the job well. I have PC Probe from ASUS and most of the time it's fairly consistent with my PhoenixBIOS temp gauge.
