Default CPU Questions

i was just wondering if it is possiblew, and if so would it be ok to use a CPU with a 400 FSB in a socket with an 800 FSB.

Yeah, that will work fine. My cpu is a celeron which has 400mhz and the mobo I use supports hyper threading and has 800mhz fsb.

Thanks, i was just wondering, i am building a new computer, and i did not want to spend the extra few hundred on a new cpu, when i already have a p4 2.5

P4 2.8ghz HT, 512mb ddr, Intel KD865gbfl, onboard video, raidmax case, blue cathodes, round ide, loomed wires, 4x dvd burner, wd sata 80gb hard drive
Intel d865perl, 2.8ghz northwood, antec sonata, wd caviar 20gb, Corsair 512mbx1 for now. 380watt psu, ati 9600, dvdrom cdrw floppy in black too match case

p4 2.5 . . .

you sure its an actual cpu? lol

cause intel makes their cpus in increments of .2ghz (2.4ghz, 2.6, 2.8, 3.0, etc)

i believe it's the p4 2.53 he's talking about. my dad has it in his computer with 533fsb.
