Default CPU question

I am building a pc for a friend, and he mainly does picture work. Digital pictures, no video, just stills. Which cpu is better, AMD or Intel? I was leaning to the AMD since its cheaper and better, but i did not know if the p4 ht is worth it for picture editing, as it is for video editing.

Man I say you hook him up with AMD regardless if people say Intels are better for apps...Manufacturers of software like adobe..a lot of their software takes advantage of the Hyper-Threading that the newer CPU's and mobo's offer from Intel so most will say that they run faster on an Intel, but if you get a strong AMD machine it'll open and ruy any program you throw at it...depends really though on what AMD model you were considering vs what Intel model you were considering.
