CPU jumps to 100%

Hi, Is it normal for CPU to jump to 100% for a second when opening programs? Could there be to much stuff running in the background on startup, would this make the problem worse? Or is there a problem at all? Tom

Yeah like Herc says it's normal, Turn on Task Manager & you'll see whan ya open a program how it pegs the CPU. I had issues when opening my recycle bin it would peg at 100 percent for it seemed like minutes but I figured out it was because I had 4-5 gigs of deleted programs in there. No Worrys Dude.

I use Window Washer to 'shred' the contents of the recycle bin...... deletes, then goes over again writing patterns a couple more times so that the data is unrecoverable
