I was searching through some old compaq's (not towers, the main unit is a horizontal laying unit) looking at what cpus they contained to see if they were worth pulling out.

I couldn't confidently find the cpu though. I pulled off a large heatsink and found a chip underneath that looked permanently connected to the mobo. I assumed that was the cpu. It was intel and had SL37M and another comp has SL2VH.

I've searched for those numbers, but my searches come up inconclusive. Can anyone confirm that there were the cpus, and what speed, etc. they were?

Thanks

The SL37M and SL2VH were both motherboards built by Intel around 1998. Chances are they're either northbridge chips, or (most likely becuase they have heatsinks on them) they are integrated CPU's...part of the early Pentium days.
