computer stopped working

Computer wizards... please help :)

Problem:
Trying to start computer but it doesn't even get as far as to counting memory. It stops there and I have to shut it down
again. cmos battery? time to get a new motherboard? Any suggestions??
 
amd K-6 400 mgz
128 mb ram
tnt2 32 mb

the comp has been working pretty good so far. (i know it's more or less antique now but works for the kids) :)

I Agree! I must say this is prolly a motherboard problem! Maybe a ram problem but doubt it!

Do as MicroBell says - if you know what your doing!:p
 
Try to boot the LINUX install cd, there is a Memorycheck on it, so you can see what's the problem...
