Computer Stopped

Hello I am living in Cornwall - UK at the moment their is a major storm, my computer is new only 3 weeks old, and the whole machine just stopped, i could not do anything, so i had to restart the pc, any ideas ?

if this happend during the stom (i think thats wht u mean), then there was probably a power surge to the comp, and it either stopped for safety, or got affected by the storm. Best thing to do, if alot of storms occur where you are, is to buy a Plug with Surge protection, (should always have one of these anyway), and try not to use your computer when there are seriously thunderstorms

you could have had a brownout and not noticed where the power in the building drops a little bit. The comp must have shut off due to the lack of enough power.

If everything is working alright now, I don't think it should have had long term negative effects on the comp.

Did you have a lightning strike around you when the comp shut off?
