computer shuts down

need help

my computer either shuts down or restarts when i use aplications such as games and even does it with internet explorer. it will just kick me out of the application sometimes

i have

windows xp professional
soyo motherboard dragon plus 2 with 865pe intel chipset
asylum geforce fx 5600 ultra video card
p4 2.4 cpu
30 gig maxtor
toshiba dvd-cd-rw
480 watt power supply
512 ddr pc2700

if anyone knows why let me know please
its all brand new

not sure of the make on th ram but it isnt the ram i dont think because this ram installed now is my buddys that we swapped to check. just installed the os again still have the same problems and ecevrything is brand new
