Default computer programs

Is there any way to to re formatt my hard drive but keep certain programs. I dont have the discs any more for the program but would like to wipe my hard drive clean. There is just one program that I dont have the disc to and would really like to keep it

Formatting your hard drive wipes it clean. You can back up programs to portable media devices such as flash drives or writeable CDs and reinstall them onto the HD once you've formatted.

copy your program files to cd.
