Actually, if you'd like to get technical, leaving your computer on is the best thing to do (disreguarding electricity, and you must have good air circulation and a correctly built computer (I only say this if you made it)). When you turn it on and off, the expansion and contraction from the heating and cooling down of the processor can do more damage than leaving it on 24/7. There are millions of transistorys that have to do this when you turn it on and off, and the temperature change is extreme.

This is only the "technical" aspect of it, though.

depends on how frequently you actually use your pc though. i'd imagine if your the sort of person that say uses their pc once a week. turning it on and off would probably give you a longer life for your cpu than 24/7 operation

Right now I leave it on during the night, because I am burning in the CPU.

Mine stays on 24/7/365. Right now I'm on my laptop, and i keep it on. It gets a lot of air, so it really doesn't even get close to overheating.

I left my desktop on 24/7. My parents leave theirs on 24/7. I don't think it does damage. Fans have a long life, and if they do die they aren't expensive to replace !

And h4x3r, your post account is 666.. i'm staying away from you!
